Top 10 festivals in Germany.

Being a country endowed with rich culture and rich history, Germany has experienced various important events in its history. Political changes, scientific discoveries, artistic and literary contributions, Germany has been at the forefront changing events all over the world. In this report, I am going to discuss the top 10 events that have affected Germany and the world significantly.

1.     Oktoberfest is the beer festival that takes place in Munich, Germany, which has been declared by the world as the best held beer festival. It is usually held between the end of September and an early weekend, October. It was established in 1810, and one of the main focuses of the festival is beer, as it is a celebration of the Bavarian culture through cold drinks, dancing, music, and food. More than six million persons visit the lot from different parts of the world. The central feature is the huge beer halls where one can taste all sorts of locally produced beers which are served in one liter glasses called Ma-s. Besides the beer, visitors will get an opportunity to enjoy traditional German food, ride on amusement park rides and experience the festive mood of a classic event.

2.     Rock am Ring is a highly popular festival of rock music in Germany that attracts thousands of fans of this form of music to it every year. First staged at the Nurburgring racetrack at Nurburg, it was later staged at the Nurburgring and Nuremberg where it ran along side the Rock im Park. The festival, which has been establishing itself since 1985, boasts a wide range of international and local rock, metal and alternative bands, and it attracts thousands of fans worldwide. 3. Fusion Festival is artistic and very renowned arts and music festival that takes place once a year in Larz, Germany. 9.     May 17th is Christopher Street Day (CSD), a pride event that started in Germany and has since been celebrated in other cities across the globe. The festival is christened after Christopher Street in New York City where the historic Stonewall Riots have occurred in 1969, which became one of the landmark events in the gay liberation movement. CSD is an event where individuals of different sexual orientations and gender identities get together to celebrate and promote the rights and acceptance of person of LGBTQ+ orientation. The festival normally has colorful parades, live performances, art exhibits, workshops, and communal gatherings. It can be a stage that will help to increase awareness about LGBTQ+ concerns, encourage equality, and build a sense of belonging and pride among the members of this community. CSD does not only honor the adversity the LGBTQ+ people had to endure but also remembers the victories and steps towards equality and inclusion. It is a celebratory and emancipatory experience, which encourages love, acceptance, and the right to be free with what one is without fear of judgemental critiques and biased attitudes.

10.  Rhine in Flames or in German Rhein in Flammen refers to group of fireworks spectaculars done in various points along the Rhine River in Germany. The festival is held in the summer months and it usually runs between the months of May and September and each of these festivals is hosted by a different town or part of the river. At Rhein Flammen the night sky of the night becomes lit with magnificent firework displays which are accompanied with music and entertainment to give people a magical view along banks of the River Rhine. The festival is organized to celebrate the beauty of the Rhine river and its landscapes and it is now becoming a tradition that has attracted the attention of the locals and foreigners as well.
